The Journey to the Southern Andes

04:00 a.m. – 04:30 a.m. | Hotel pickup: Our team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco’s historic center. We will begin a scenic 3-hour journey heading south, passing through traditional villages and beautiful landscapes of the Peruvian highlands.

07:30 a.m. | Breakfast at a local restaurant: We will arrive in the province of Canas. There, we will enjoy a nutritious breakfast to start the day with energy.
Heading to the Trailhead

08:30 a.m. | Continued journey: We will resume the drive for an additional 45 minutes. Along the way, we will appreciate the immense Langui-Layo Lake. We will reach the starting point of the hike at over 14,764 ft (4,500 m) above sea level.
Trek to Pallay Punchu

Start of the Trek: We will begin the hike at a moderate pace. The ascent takes between 1.5 to 2 hours. The trail offers spectacular views of meadows and local ranching communities; you will observe herds of alpacas and sheep during the journey.

Arrival at the summit (15,420 ft / 4,700 m): We will crown the mountain to marvel at its geological formations. The guide will explain the meaning of “Pallay Punchu” and its geological origins.

Free time: You will have enough time to take unique photographs. You can rest and appreciate the Langui-Layo Lake from the heights.
Descent and Traditional Flavors
