Preguntas Frecuentes
It is recommended to book at least 1 or 2 months in advance, especially if you plan to travel during peak season (May to October). Citadel entrance tickets and train tickets have limited daily availability and tend to sell out quickly.
No, this tour is designed for most travelers. The hike within the archaeological zone takes approximately two hours at a leisurely pace with stops. However, due to the high altitude, it’s recommended to spend at least a day in Cusco beforehand to acclimatize.
Yes, it’s possible, but it’s subject to availability and requires purchasing the specific ticket (Circuit + Mountain) well in advance. Keep in mind that adding an extra mountain will require more physical effort and shorten your free time in Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Pueblo.
The weather in the cloud forest can change rapidly; it can be cold in the morning, very sunny at midday, and rainy in the afternoon. It’s best to dress in layers (t-shirts, sweaters, and jackets). Sunscreen, a hat, mosquito repellent, and a waterproof poncho are essential.
Lunch is not included, but after the guided tour and descending from the citadel, you’ll have free time in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). There you’ll find a wide range of dining options, from budget-friendly menus to tourist restaurants serving local and international cuisine.
It is mandatory to present the original identity document used to make the reservation. For Peruvians and citizens of the Andean Community (Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia), this is the National Identity Document (DNI) or Identity Card; for foreigners, the original physical passport is required.
