We will begin the day with a private pickup and head toward the southern valley. Our first stop is the Tipon site, a beautiful Inca water complex where we will see perfect channels and terraces. The hydraulic system is both impressive and complex; you will learn about the Inca mastery of engineering.
Next, we will continue our route to Pikillacta, which was a major pre-Inca Wari city. Its adobe walls are remarkable, and we will learn about the significant Wari civilization. The view from the lookout point is excellent. Finally, we will arrive in beautiful Andahuaylillas to visit the famous “Sistine Chapel of the Americas.” Its frescoes and altarpieces are made of pure gold the colonial art here is of immense beauty. We will return to Cusco in the late afternoon.
