Your adventure begins with your airport reception and private transfer to your hotel. We recommend staying hydrated with water or coca tea to acclimatize to the altitude of 3,399 meters (10,000 feet). In the afternoon, we will take a city tour of the historic center. We will visit the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) and the Cusco Cathedral. We will also explore Qoricancha, or the Temple of the Sun. Finally, we will head to the nearby sites of Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. This first glimpse will allow you to appreciate the architectural grandeur of the Incas.
This is the central day of the Inti Raymi and Machu Picchu Tour. After breakfast, we will travel to Sacsayhuaman to witness the majestic Inti Raymi ceremony. You will witness the reenactment of the Inca court and the sacred rituals dedicated to the Sun. The program includes a nutritious lunch so you can enjoy the spectacle in complete comfort. In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore the local markets and artisan shops. We conclude the day with an included dinner to celebrate this ancestral festival.
We begin our full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley. First, we will visit the artisan market and the ruins of Pisac, famous for its agricultural terraces. Afterward, we will enjoy a buffet lunch at a typical local restaurant. We will continue our journey to the fortress of Ollantaytambo, a living Inca city that preserves its original layout. The Andean landscape will offer spectacular panoramic stops for capturing unique photographs before returning to Cusco for the night.
The fourth day of the Inti Raymi and Machu Picchu Tour takes us to this wonder of the world. We’ll travel by tourist train to Aguas Calientes, enjoying views of the Urubamba River. We’ll then board a Consetur bus to ascend to the citadel. A professional guide will accompany you on a detailed tour of temples, terraces, and sacred viewpoints. You’ll have free time to explore and feel the mystical energy of the sanctuary. After lunch in Aguas Calientes, we’ll begin our return journey by train and private transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
