Frequently asked questions
Which is harder, Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain?
Both are rated high effort. Huayna Picchu is shorter but more vertical and exposed; Machu Picchu Mountain is longer, with wider stairs. If you suffer from vertigo, choose Machu Picchu Mountain.
Can I climb both mountains on the same day?
Not with a single ticket. Each mountain is a separate route, so you’d have to buy two tickets for different time slots, which isn’t very practical given how long each route takes.
